For ag & food operations

Automation built for packing houses, growers, and food logistics.

Bakersfield is California's ag backbone. The work that eats your office week — H-2A paperwork, traceability, audit prep, grower statements — is exactly the recurring, rule-bound work that automates well. We run the same self-hosted stack on our own operation, and we'll build yours on tools you already pay for.

The work that eats your week.

Three patterns we hear from Kern packing houses, growers, and shippers again and again:

Labor & H-2A paperwork

  • Re-entering the same worker data across payroll, the dispatch board, and the worker file
  • Hours & payroll reconciliation against the H-2A contract terms, by hand
  • Housing, transportation, and disclosure records scattered across binders and email
  • A document request that means a week of reconstruction

Traceability & food safety

  • Lot codes that live in three spreadsheets and one manager's memory
  • A trace or recall request that takes days to assemble
  • Audit-prep week spent finding documents instead of refining them
  • Harvest, packing, and shipping logs that don't talk to each other

The office back-office

  • Quotes and grower statements typed one at a time
  • Dispatch and delivery status chased down by phone
  • Reports copy-pasted together every Friday
  • Bilingual customer and crew messaging done manually

Where to start

Productized installs for ag & food.

These are newly productized installs — we've built the underlying automations on our own operation, but we don't have ag-client case studies to point to yet. We'll be straight with you about where the edges are before you commit.

H-2A paperwork automation

$7,500Kickstart · 30-day install

We'll build the record-keeping automation an H-2A employer maintains — the centralized worker file, payroll/hours reconciliation, housing and transport records. It is paperwork automation, not immigration legal services: we don't file visas or give legal advice, and we refer you to licensed immigration counsel for that.

What it covers:

  • One worker file replacing the binder + drive + email pattern
  • Payroll ↔ contract-terms reconciliation with variance flagged for review
  • Housing / transportation / disclosure record retention
  • We refer out: visa filing, ETA-9142A prep, any legal determination

FSMA traceability install

$7,500Kickstart · 30-day install

We'll wire the lot codes and Critical Tracking Events FDA's Food Traceability Rule expects into one workflow, so a trace request takes minutes. FDA's compliance date is July 20, 2028 — this is a planning-window install, not an emergency. We implement your traceability plan; we don't author it or attest compliance.

What it covers:

  • Traceability Lot Code assignment at the FDA trigger points
  • Mobile capture forms for the CTEs that apply to your operation
  • Forward + backward lot-link query; a scripted mock-recall drill
  • We refer out: plan authoring, food-safety attestation, certification

Audit-prep document pack

$7,500Kickstart · 30-day install

We'll organize the document pack for an annual PrimusGFS / GlobalG.A.P. / USDA-AMS audit into a single search-and-export-ready workflow — so your food-safety lead spends audit week refining records, not hunting for them. We organize and export; your food-safety lead makes every judgment call.

What it covers:

  • Module-by-module document index matching your scheme
  • Training logs, internal-audit records, mock-recall results in one place
  • One-click export pack in your certification body's expected format
  • Calibrated to your actual audit date

Not sure which fits? Use the budget guide or book a 30-minute intro — no deck, just a conversation about your work pattern and whether we're a fit.

FAQ

Questions ag & food operators ask.

Do you file H-2A visas or give immigration legal advice?

No. We automate the paperwork and record-keeping an H-2A employer already maintains — the worker file, payroll and hours reconciliation, housing and transport records. Visa filing, ETA-9142A preparation, and any legal determination are handled by your licensed immigration counsel or a DOJ-accredited representative. We refer you to one if you don't have counsel.

Isn't FSMA 204 a January 2026 deadline?

The original January 2026 date was extended by FDA to July 20, 2028 (Federal Register 90 FR 52119, August 2025). So there's no emergency — but there is a real planning window. Installing traceability now means a trace request takes minutes instead of days, well before the compliance date arrives.

Will you certify that we're food-safe or FSMA-compliant?

No — and anyone who promises that should worry you. We build the operational system: lot codes, capture forms, the document pack, the export. Your food-safety lead and your certification body (PrimusGFS, GlobalG.A.P., SQF, BRC, USDA-AMS) make the compliance and judgment calls. We implement your plan; we don't author it.

We're a smaller operation — is this overkill?

We work with 10–50-person operations doing real volume. The point isn't enterprise software; it's connecting the tools you already pay for so the office stops re-entering the same data. If a workflow isn't worth automating yet, we'll tell you before you pay for the build.

Do you replace our QuickBooks / dispatch board / packing software?

No rip-and-replace. We connect what's there and fill the gaps with focused pieces, then document every step so a non-engineer on your team can follow it. You own the workflow, the credentials, and the docs.

See it run before you decide.

Every month we walk the Method through a real example — often one we just shipped on our own operation. Come see whether this fits your office before you spend a dollar.
